Great review. When I used to play in the clubs, bars and honky-tonks in Oklahoma and Arkansas if you didn't play any Merle you didn't get asked back lol. One of my favorite songs of his is I'm always on a mountain when I fall. Again great review and keep them coming. I would gift request but being a retired musician the funds aren't there but I do like seeing someone enjoying the same music i started playing back in the 70s to just a few years ago.

Sorry to disappoint you about the information I may have had for you. Can’t help you about lice, species, and weight. I probably have seen a thousand whales in my career, but somewhat from afar. All I can say is that they are beautiful gentle giants. Other than humans, they may be the smartest of all the animals. A decade or more ago, many laws were put in place to help insure their survival and they have helped tremendously. Off of Long Island, in the last say five years, there have been more whales than ever close to the beach. That is because of the tremendous amount of the menhaden(bunker) schools available to them for their consumption. The last few years I fished (rod & reel) out of a 17’ boat. When a whale started swimming towards me, I said “I am out of here”. Even though he may have been only curious, I couldn’t take the chance of him accidentally overturning my small boat with an effortless flip of his tail. They are beautiful animals that should be protected.

This song is autobiographical. They all retired to their home town of Fort Payne Alabama. My uncle knew them rip and said they were good down to earth people. This song was originally recorded and released on their 1974 album "Sons of the Motherland." The original version is quite different from this recording which was released on their 1991 album. That song was one i carried with me to basic training. I used to sing the song in my mind during the physical training and tests we went through. It was good motivation particularly since it was a time of war. The Statlers are very patriotic and have recorded several love songs for America. It's another reason why i loved them so much. A few others are "Nothing as Original as you", 'More Than A Name On a Wall" which you've reacted to, a fun song called 'All-American Girl,", and their fun version of "I've Been Everywhere." But one of my favorites right beside "You've Been like a Mother to Me," was the beautiful and sad song "Silver Medals and Sweet Memories." All are really wonderful songs loving on America one way or another, directly or indirectly.

Thank you JohnH for this request of an artist I like. But this one really didn't do it for me. The lyrics were good and he delivered them the great manner he is known for, In my opinion, the music composer did the harm, it would be better if left more acoustic like the beginning. The song was released in 2010, which makes since because that is when Nashville got their stupid idea country needed to be more pop/rock based to get a bigger listener base. Thanks for your reaction. thanks for toe posting of both. With reds story 0f Teddie Bare there where 2 men doing it then a bad woman full of hate did one killed the boy off. Red Sovine gave him the opperation so he could walk and he drove a big rig that was the best to that mean womans record.

Fun song because the area I live is known as the citrus belt. Our high school is surrounded by Orange groves. I worked farming Oranges for many years. Orange blossoms are so rich,sweet, distinct as Jasmine or Honeysuckle.

yeah he's from Cananda, he was really popular up there, only had a few songs on the charts in the US but won awards up in Canada i believe

Paul Brandt is from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. My Heart Has A History is Paul Brandt's first big hit, from 1996. He was 24 when this song came out. Paul Brandt was a pediatric nurse before he made it big in country music. I saw Paul Brandt 8 times live and met him. In 2012, I saw Paul Brandt at the Calgary Stampede, for their 100th anniversary.
